Alamos Gold is one of the largest employers and economic contributors in the rural Northern Ontario communities surrounding its operations, including Dubreuilville, Wawa, and Matachewan. Beyond creating jobs and supporting local businesses, the company plays an important role in the long-term social and economic wellbeing of the region.
Recognizing the importance of understanding community perspectives, Alamos partnered with N1 Consulting and Locality to undertake a comprehensive socioeconomic benefits study. The goal was to better understand how the company's operations were experienced locally, identify opportunities to strengthen relationships, and ensure future investments reflected community priorities.

Resource development creates significant opportunities for employment, procurement, and regional investment, but it also brings diverse expectations from municipalities, First Nations, local businesses, residents, and community organizations.
